What is Pilates, and can I do it?

Pilates is body-weight movements that are tailored to suit your body and ability, slow and controlled when you need them to be, then progressing to dynamic and athletic as you improve.

Yes, you can do it! No matter where you think that your start point is, we have movements to put you on your path to reach your goals.

Isn’t Pilates only for people who want gentle exercise?

If your body need Pilates to be slow and gentle, then that’s what I’ll teach you, however if you need something more energetic, I’ll teach you Pilates that will leave you with trembling muscles and drenched in sweat. Still unsure, then try my “so you think Pilates is easy” video.

What are the core principles of Pilates?

Each session is created around the following 6 principles:

Is Pilates like Yoga?

There are similarities between the two because Joseph Pilates took inspiration from Eastern and Western traditions. The main differences are that Pilates is more dynamic, and focuses on strengthening the deepest layer of abdominal muscles.
